Special Issue: Metabolic Neuropsychiatry

SPECIAL ISSUE GUEST-EDITORS:

Rodrigo Grassi-Oliveira, Aarhus University, Denmark & Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

Metabolic Neuropsychiatry is a term used to describe studies investigating the intersection of metabolic and brain sciences. This is a new field of paramount importance since many people with neuropsychiatric disorders are at a greater risk of developing certain metabolic abnormalities, such as obesity, dyslipidemia, glycemic dysregulation, and elevated blood pressure. Similarly, patients with metabolic abnormalities are also having an increased risk of developing mental health issues.
Metabolic Neuropsychiatry encompasses nutrition, exercise, endocrinology, immunology, psychiatry, and neurology, combined with a broad spectrum of clinical and basic neuroscience.

We are excited to invite you to contribute to this special issue of Acta Neuropsychiatrica. We welcome both review articles and empirical papers, including submissions from all types of research, including basic science, epidemiology, brain imaging, immune function, therapeutic potential, cognition, and regulatory issues.
