Anna Loftén
Anna Loftén received her medical degree from the University of Gothenburg in 2018. Following this she pursued clinical work at Sahlgrenska University Hospital combined with PhD-studies, supervised by Professor Mia Ericson at the Addiction Biology Unit, at the Sahlgrenska Academy of the University of Gothenburg. In a preclinical project, she studies the mechanisms behind ethanol’s rewarding effect, specifically the role of accumbal cholinergic interneurons in ethanol-induced dopamine release, with the aim to find new possible pharmacological targets for treatment of alcohol use disorder. She will defend her thesis in spring of 2024.
